The Green Thumb

Where do we get our “Locally-sourced soil”?

Our soil is a pre-portioned mix of one part vermicompost and three parts regular potting soil! Our vermicompost is sourced from Partridge Creek Compost, a local composting organization in Marquette focused on creating a sustainable future for Marquette County and beyond. While vermicompost is not classified as a “fertilizer”, it is highly effective at fertilizing soil, especially of that used for plant and herb growing. It is essentially a type of compost produced by earthworms, and it’s often referred to as “worm castings” or “worm manure.” In other words, your herbs will not be complaining!
